can we just

i know ive been going on about tamora pierce’s books recently but

books written for teenagers filled to the brim with women

all types of different women, diverse women, not all your stereotypical “strong woman” but women who are each awesome in their own way and have their own strengths and weaknesses

men who adore those women and admire them are given attention in the books while assholes who try to treat them as ‘only women’ are taken the fuck down!

and books written for teenagers with sexual openness

people who are in open relationships, or who have a lot of partners, people who have barely any partners, gay men and women, pansexual people, trans people, people in relationships with age gaps between themselves and their partner, people in relationships with partners who have human form but arent actually human (would not recommend irl)

different races different countries and different cultures! having the main characters forced to reevaluate their snap judgements of the way things are done in other lands! correcting people who say awful shit!

actually shaming the main characters when they do something wrong!

taking down corrupt power structures!

having magic but not having everything ‘just work out’!

people who actually die!

gods who are totally unhelpful and uncaring!

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
